Now it’s flagged as return to sender, and is moseying back to Canada.Īnd that’s where I am now. WHAT IN THE &($/ IS THIS I think to myself, given that specific item should only have federal tax charges, no duty. I click to see what the fees are because at this point if it’s like $50 I’ll pay it and move on with my day. Not sure why that is, I know for a fact the receiver didn’t contact them. The parcel is clearing US customs now… Odd. Ok, I’ll just take it out of his refund, not my problem. I got ahold of them and they were decently quick about requesting it be returned to sender, but cautioned me I may have fees due to this. Ok… Odd, but I’ll call up Netparcel and tell them to contact you and ask the same thing. UPS says “no can do, you aren’t Netparcel”. I gave him two weeks of daily Pembina scans.įinally I decide it’s been long enough, and try to contact UPS to bounce my parcel back, as both of us are unable to get ahold of the guy and I’d rather just refund him and sell it to a Canadian once I get it back. I decided to give the guy time, because I already got paid, this isn’t really stressing me too much, and clearly he’s in no rush. If you don’t get ahold of them, it will likely get sent back and that’s gonna be on your dime”. I tell them I’ll give it a go and send him an eBay message, letting him know “hey, UPS needs to talk to you, otherwise your parcel won’t go anywhere. I contact UPS, who again are happy to help and inform me the receiver won’t answer their calls or emails, and that they need his Tax # (they actually asked me for it, I asked them why they though I would have his SSN). Ok, not my problem, they have his info, they can get ahold of him.Īnother week of Pembina scans. Now UPS needs clearance info from the receiver. I filled out said invoice, transmitted it to UPS and it seemed like things were going well again, clearance had begun and the documents team said everything was good. They were apprehensive to deal with me as I am not Netparcel, but I was able to verify shipment info and that kept things moving. I decide to call up UPS, who is happy to tell me all they need is the commercial invoice, and will send me a blank one to fill out. I ignore it for a day or two thinking UPS will call up Netparcel, they’ll shake hands and that will be it. Ok, that’s odd, Netparcel claims they transmit this info (and have for my past UPS parcels). After a few days of just being scanned “on the way” in Pembina, I get a scan saying clearance info is needed from the sender, specifically a commercial invoice. The buyer was highly rated and seemed on the level (I soft cyberstalk people I’m sending expensive things to, can you blame me?), so I boxed the item up well, hopped on my PayPal account and used Netparcel to generate a UPS label, as they have some pretty substantial savings over direct.Įverything was going fine, the parcel was picked up, left Winnipeg and hit Pembina, the typical US port of entry for me. Grab the popcorn folks, this one is a bit long.Ībout a month back I sold a decently high value item on eBay, with shipping to the US.
